Larry Sanders

Born into a military family, grew up focused on becoming an officer in the Army.

Longwood University Class of 2003: Captain of the Rugby Team and held several leadership positions in the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity.

After graduating from Longwood University in 2003, Larry was approached by a Richmond-based residential home builder to learn the construction process and manage job-sites. Being a project manager gave me the opportunity to oversee the construction of 150+ homes in Central Virginia, from land clearing to final closing.

In 2007, during a recession, he joined Hometown Realty & believes that the combination of construction experience and learning Real Estate during a recession gives him a unique advantage over many Realtors.

Junior Partner at Hometown Realty & serves on the education committee, teaches classes & runs a small team.

Lives in Ashland with his wife (Jen) and two sons (Hayden and Dean).

Passionate about the community: Jen & Larry run a non-profit called Readers to Leaders that puts new books in the hands of children living in book deserts. He proudly serves on the board of the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia. In 2020 he created a program called Disciplined Dads, to support Dads going through big changes in life.

Loves spending time with Jen & the boys, as well as their extended family, at their beach house in the Outer Banks!

Hobbies include: weightlifting & exercise, playing golf, watching his sons play sports, & cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, & VCU Rams.
